Walk through the pproach with a tsukubai (蹲 stone washbasin) and enter the tearoom through nijiriguchi (躙り口 a small, square entrance). First, we will serve usucha (薄茶 thin tea) and sweets in a style called otemae (お点前), and you can get to experience performing the otemae.
What you experience here is essencials of Chaji (茶事 formal teaceremony which usually takes 4 hours in total) with carefully selected high-end utencils. Not only drinking matcha but you can also experience and know the culture deeper.
Samue (作務衣 traditional uniform) and a pair of white tabi (足袋 traditional socks) to wear will be provided for free.
For male, we can get you dressed in kimono without additional fee depending on number of participants.
For female, we are not able to get you dressed in Kimono at this moment. We recommend you to use Kimono rental service near by.
